Update

The final touches were made to my scenes that I was working on,
I edited the saturation on several scenes and removed the port glow, while VAL is outside of her port
The glow that emits from VAl while outside of her port was brightened or opacity turned down so that it is less solid and saturated

After Polishing the scenes, they were exported out, and put on temp drive for Jaquie to put together in Premier. I did end up going back through the scenes I had composited in case I had missed something and ended up having to edit and re-render scene 10_5, due to the port glow being to strong within the scene, after feathering the glow some more and lowering the opacity it was ready to re-render.

Update

So far I am currently adding effects to Val,
Majority of the effects are underway on VAL at this point I am fine tuning the effects, and comparing them to Fabri's Compositing so that the end result of VAL is not all over the place and remains consistent throughout the short film, "Welcome Home"

Glorified tazer

Camera tracking:
Window be set to default to find the tracking menu

Motion tracking, it works better with a different contrast,
Automatic way, and manual way
Auto is in the tracking menu and is the more easy way
Manual is when you move the comp it self re positioning it every few frames

Script One:

EXT. Morning

Ace folds out a map tracing his finger along the sheet of paper searching for something.

From behind Ezaru is stalking up to him, up to standing behind him looking menicing.
Ace unaware is still focused on what he is searching for on the map.

Ezaru
SOooo you found where that old town is or no

Ace shreaks as he hears her voice out of nowhere, Ezaru now in a playful position. Laughing at the scare.
Ace
Ezaru.....

Ace is slighting smiling while watching the laughing dragon before ruffling up her head.

Im not too sure on other options yet, I think once I have a main script down I can create a list of techniques I can play around with and twist the script with
It will probably change

Techniques:
Camera-

Establing shot
Pan down

Editing:
Cut away, (from when the guard grabs rwby, to him flying across the screen)
(this could cause suspense or comedy, depending on how I use it.)

Other:

Placement of objects to help show who the characters are.

In the Rwby show, in season one, there isn't much in terms of lighting

Week6: Animator, they weird

Suzan Pit: American Animator

Her work to me, seems like a drug induced fever dream, it has no plot and is a vague collection of colour characters and movement.
To me it seems like something that could appear in a point and click type of game, a horror based one, while her animations are very colourful, I feels as if they fall into the uncanny Vally, almost disturbing yet far from it
It has a very Monty Python esk type of animation

Its like Salad Fingers and Sally Face had a kid, thats it, thats what her work is like/

Marjane Satrap: Novelist, cartoonist, illustrater, film director....

- Persepolis

its interesting, not something I would see again, the animation was simple and funny.

Week4: Braindead

Ok so I found it hard to concentrate and process, what was going on but here we go,
I did lose some of the footage as I forgot to save the first version.

I got the ruff Idea on matting and layers but I think I will need to go over it several times for it to stick in my head.

I got the selection for the replacement or thing to effect a specific area, but I couldn't figure out how to animate,

Week4: Update

Added the chest, piece and fixed the skirt, I was having a little trouble as the edges were doubled up a bit.

Week3: BLEERRRGG

We had great progress on our project, We had set up a production line or pipeline as i think its called, which is sorting when and where. as for me, I made progress on the 3D Model,
I need to do some concept art for the locations however, I will need references of the location from Jakie first.

I was mainly smoothing out the arms and separating a few meshes, and ya know, the skirt did that.
:D

Project Val Inspirations

Gate Box AI assistant (Main Inspo)

The virtual assistant was one of the inspirations for the story, Gatebox is designed to provide company and companionship to its owner, for people to have someone to come home to, The anime girl appearance was used as in Japan, where the product is distributed, it is a very common and friendly form of art, and much more appealing to lets say, a realistic humanoid.

The idea sparked from the idea that, an AI assistant was abandoned within an apocalyptic world. The AI was created to be of service and with no one to serve or help, what will she do.

Week3: adhd does not help in concentrating

EXPLODY BOI
after effects stuff, learned a bit, how to incorporate effects,

BOOM
